Ridley - X by Starshadow76 Ridley - X by Starshadow76
This took basically a month. It's truthfully my biggest completed piece, with a size of 50 x 20 inches. Though I nicely shrunk it down here for you :)

PICTURE PLOT- YES, there is a point to this. As I'm sure you could've guessed, it's Metroid Fusion. I decided to spice up the Ridley - X boss battle. Mainly because it was just a shoot em up. I mean what if you missed and hit a metroid? that sounded funner to me..... And here's to a Metroid Fusion in 3D! Hehe, not really. I'm super good with Other M for this year.

Now both characters I do not claim, though I did make this entire thing by myself, so please don't use it without permission.

This was certainly a very freaky incarnation of Ridley. It was sort of unsettling when you first find Ridley's preserved corpse frozen in the Sub-Zero Containment area, obviously being experimented on by the B.S.L. personnel earlier, but then it seems to come back alive briefly, when then the Core-X then managed to extract enough genetic material from Ridley's body and then escapes as his corpse then collapses.

Nice job on this drawing, though that wouldn't really work good in this reimagining. Remember in the part where SA-X wrecks the Restricted Laboratory and releases the Metroids being experimented on there, the Metroids didn't attack Samus. This was probably due to the X-Parasite Cure being made from Metroid Genetic Material, and as a result, the Cure also made the Metroids not think of Samus as a threat or possible thing to feed on later.
So if you did accidentally release one of these Metroids in this reimagined battle, they wouldn't attack you. In fact, I bet it would make the battle easier, since it was said that the Metroids are predators to the X and immune to their infection, so due to this Ridley X really being a Core-X imitating his DNA, they would attack Ridley X instead, not Samus.

Also, recently in Metroid Other M, it was explained how Ridley's body got there in the first place (Other M certainly explains a lot of the unanswered stuff in Metroid Fusion). After fighting the Cloned Ridley in it's final form, he escapes. Then later on, near when you fight the Queen Metroid, you find the Ridley Clone's dead body sitting there, withered and sucked dry on energy by the Queen Metroid. Apparently after the events of Other M, the B.S.L. personnel then took his body into the station to experiment more with the Dragonlike Space Pirate Commander's DNA and such, and perhaps the same with a bunch of Space Pirates who met similar fates, and then the X got it from there. It would also make sense to put his sucked dry body in a sub-zero containment, so that it doesn't decay as quickly.

Surprisingly this drawing of Ridley more resembles the X version from Other M. I really think they did make Ridley look scary in that game. But I'd be hiding from this O_O.

I love how you mixed human elements into Ridley-X, as a reference of how X-Parasites can "splice-genes" of the organisms they've absorbed. Although by this time Samus had the Gravity suit (different color scheme) it's a negligible detail.

Yeah, which is why you see to the armor, added a purple color and outer metal.

Woah--This is amazing...!! Can you tell just how much work you put into this piece. The tubes are nicely done--I like the reflections and small bullet dents on the glass. This is truly remarkable. I'm proud that you took artist freedom to remake Ridley X. Samus' suit looks great as well... Ahhh...! I hope you place. <3

I love it. The only thing that bugs me is that the helmet looks...a little off. I don't know why, but it does. Amazing piece nonetheless.
